We will be closed from December 24th through December 27th for the Christmas holidays.

From December 28th through January 3rd, 2027, we will be open again and look forward to welcoming you! 🥂

✨ New Year’s Eve ✨
We will not be hosting a special New Year’s Eve party this year. However, our bar will be open until 1:00 AM.

Come and celebrate the New Year with us and enjoy a traditional Dutch oliebollen, a glass of champagne, a little bar snack and a drink. 🍾🥂

By car

Waddenhotel Greenside is easily accessible by car. From the ferry just follow the signposts to De Koog. In De Koog take the first turn to the right after the Texaco petrol station and there on your left lies the hotel.

At the front of the hotel there are only a few parking spaces, which are exclusively reserved for unloading luggage and checking in.

ehind the hotel there is a spacious car park where you can park free of charge during the rest of your stay.

The ferry boat

In Den Helder, only fifty miles north of Amsterdam, the double decker ferry sails every hour to Texel. The crossing only takes twenty minutes.

It is not necessary (or possible) to reserve a place on the ferry;

but you can buy an e-ticket.

During busy periods there are two ferries per hour.

Public transport

From Den Helder station, take bus line 33 to the boat. This bus leaves 12 minutes past every hour and is coordinated exactly with the schedule of the boat. You will be dropped off at the ticket counter for the TESO ferry. You can then board the boat after you buy a round trip ticket. Want to continue with a bus when you reach Texel? Then leave the boat on the right-hand side. Travelers for Den Burg and De Koog can take bus line 28. If you have another destination, then you can take a Texelhopper mini-bus. These buses have to be reserved in advance (www.texelhopper.nl).

Attention: The OV-chip card is not valid on Texel.

In order to cross over with the ferry, you have to buy a separate ticket at the TESO ferry ticket counter in Den Helder.

De Koog, Texel

De Koog is a seaside resort of the best. Only one row of dunes sheds the village from the beach. The sea can always be heard in the background.

All year round the Dorpsstraat has a lovely holiday feeling. During the day you can shop; in the evening you can enjoy a drink on the terrace.
